Official Preliminary Trademark Search in Kazakhstan
Before filing a trademark application in Kazakhstan, we recommend an official preliminary search. It reveals identical or confusingly similar earlier trademarks that may be cited against the application during examination, helping to avoid refusal and save time and costs.
The search is not mandatory, but it allows you to assess the chances of registration before filing.
The search is carried out directly by the National Institute of Intellectual Property (Kazpatent) and covers both registered trademarks and pending applications. It is the most reliable way to check availability, as it is based on the Office’s up-to-date records and covers both the word and figurative elements of the mark.
Key features of the official search:
- Both the word and figurative elements of the mark (if any) are searched.
- The search covers the Nice classes you specify.
- The search covers Kazpatent’s national and international trademark databases, including pending applications.
- An official fee is charged, depending on the type of mark (word, figurative or combined) and the number of Nice classes.
- Our fee covers filing the search request, liaison with the Office and analysis of the results.
